ONLINE CLASS: Distress Techniques - Chalk Board Effect

Monthly Distress Techniques Class with Kris

Distress inks have always been popular, but in the past year, it has become the "go to" product for so many different projects!  In this monthly series, our own Krafty Kris will teach you a variety of techniques and give you TONS of ideas on how you can use Distress in your crafting.  Plus, she'll mix in (no pun intended) a few mixed media tricks too.

In this class, you will create a colour burst "chalk on blackboard" background using a Distress Oxide blending technique on dark paper.

There is no kit of supplies for this class.  While we list suggested supplies below, we encourage you to use the supplies you have on hand -- Distress Ink, Distress Oxide ink, various sprays, any colours -- just to learn the techniques and have fun.  Using different products may result in slightly different results, but isn't that the best part about learning and experimenting?

 

BASIC SUPPLIES NEEDED FOR EACH CLASS IN THE SERIES

• Tim Holtz White Heavystock Paper, cut into quarters -- one pack will last for several classes
• Ink Blending Brush - Nellie's Choice Size #3 or any other brand
• Mini Ink Blending Tool with Foam pads
• Heat gun or hair dryer
• Craft Sheet or Glass Media Mat
• Distress Sprayer
• 1" Flat silky bristled paint brush
• White Gel Pen - Uniball or Gelly Roll

BASIC SUPPLIES NEEDED FOR THIS CLASS

• Black cardstock
• 4-6 Distress Oxide inks in a range of colours, light to dark - your choice
  
  • Kris will be using Shabby Shutters, Pine Needles, Tumbled Glass, Dusty Concord
• Blending tool or brush
• Sentiment and small patterns stamps -- stars, hearts, etc.
• Versamark or Embossing ink
• White and clear embossing powder -- can have sparkle too!
• Re-positionable tape like Purple tape or washi tape
  
  

Online class will be held on Thursday, October 14 at 7:00pm on the secure ZOOM Conferencing platform -- an interactive video system that allows you to receive instructions and ask questions, while interacting virtually with your classmates.  ZOOM meeting login and password to be provided upon purchase of the kit.  If you are not able to attend LIVE, a link to the recorded video will be provided.
