Welcome to The Papercrafter's Workshop

The Papercrafter's Workshop is a family owned and operated small business where we work hard to provide an inspiring and fun place for you to shop for your favourite papercrafting products, as well as create a relaxing and comfortable environment for you to come and craft, and dedicate some "me" time for yourself.

We offer a wide range of classes, crops and fun events, as well as open our space for your own personal crafting if you need more space and uninterrupted time than you get at home.  Many of our ladies consider The Workshop their escape, their source for positive mental health and sanity, and we love that we can provide a home for such an important part of their well-being.

Originally opening its doors in 2007, The Workshop quickly became a favourite shopping destination for scrapbookers and crafters across Ontario. In 2017, Sheri and her hubby Matt took over the store, fulfilling a lifelong dream of owning their own business.

This will be a true family business, so you are sure to see our boys, Sam and Charlie, around the store, ready to help in any way they can.  And we are supported by our team members, Janet and Debbie, my sisters from another mister, who bring their enthusiasm and crafty knowledge to work with them each day that they are in store.

We are proudly Canadian and honoured to work with and support sister small business entrepreneurs from across our country.  You will always see Canadian products in our store, alongside your favourites from south of the border.

We have way more plans, ideas and dreams than we do time and money, but what is always first and foremost is our dedication to making our store your favourite place to craft and shop.  So come on in, craft a while and see what The Workshop is all about. It's a place where creativity, inspiration and laughter are always in stock.

MEET OUR TEAM!

As a family-run business, our team is made up of FAMILY and people who are just like family.  We each bring different skills, likes and dislikes but we're all dedicated to helping you with your crafting needs, providing a relaxing, comfortable space for you to shop and craft and making your time with us FUN!

Let me introduce you to the team ...

Sheri Ballantyne, Store Owner, Girl Boss, Jack of most Crafts

Sheri brings her knowledge and expertise from 12 years with a leading direct sales scrapbooking company. As a top 5 seller in Canada 4 years in a row and two-time incentive trip earner, she has seen a lot and is ready to answer any question or handle any crafting challenge you may bring.  Whether it's scrapbooking, cardmaking, colouring with Copics, stamping or any other crafting, Sheri just loves being creative. And her favourite part of crafting is all of the wonderful people she meets and connects with while sharing this amazing hobby.

Sheri also loves reading (especially Stephen King), the Toronto Blue Jays, travelling and hanging out with her three boys.

Matt Ballantyne, Store Owner, IT, Process and Retail Specialist, Comic Relief

After 20+ years working with Staples Canada, Matt has learned a thing or two about the retail world.  He has been a driving force behind this online experience, and has worked tirelessly to find the right provider, enter countless SKUs of product, search out product images, work with suppliers, and get this whole thing up and running.  Got an IT question?  Ask Matt.  Got a crafting question?  He'll direct you to someone else.  BUT he does have a say -- check out our "Matt's Picks" in store.

Matt is an avid golfer and traveler.  He is looking forward to his "bucket list" trip to Scotland this Fall.  And he DOES craft too -- last summer, he made his first (and maybe last) stamped and handmade card for a challenge at the office.

Alexis Crossland-Smith

Alexis started with scrapbooking back in 2001 after a trip to France. She has changed the way she has scrapbooked over the years trying different methods including pocket scrapbooking and mini albums.

She has found her passion though with stamping and Copic markers. She has taught herself over the last few years learning shading and all different techniques. She loves to share her knowledge and tips & tricks with anyone who is interested.

She is very excited to be able to work at The Workshop not only with such an amazing team but also getting to share her passion with all the wonderful customers.

Outside of her papercrafting she is an avid NERD who loves to read and LOVES Harry Potter.
